CST online pre-training modules available now!
Physicians, clinicians, staff and students who are impacted by CST will have pre-training online modules to complete prior to classroom training (where they will learn to use the new clinical information system and associated workflows). Please complete the Privacy and Confidentiality in a Clinical Information System (mandatory) and the Computer Confidence Check (recommended) modules on LearningHub.phsa.ca (formerly the CCRS system) by November 30, 2017. The overall plan for training
Training will cater to the learning styles, specialty areas and the realities of day-to-day work of physicians, clinicians and staff. A variety of learning approaches will be provided to support each audience and their different needs which include:
- Familiarization modules will introduce the basic functionality and high-level navigation for the clinical information system. These modules are meant as an orientation that will give a sneak-peak at the screens users will be working in day-to-day once we go live. These modules will serve as a building block for classroom training.
- Classroom training will begin approximately 6 - 8 weeks before go-live. A training roadmap will be available with additional details, including a catalogue of courses by role, schedule of courses and classroom locations.
- Workflow rehearsals will be conducted in the weeks preceding go-live. These rehearsals give an opportunity for physicians, clinicians and staff to practice important future-state workflows (e.g. ED to ICU) on their own and with their interdisciplinary team.
On-site user support
Comprehensive support will be in place for all staff, ready for go-live. Peer, technical and clinical support will be available for programs and units 24/7, including “at-the-elbow” support. This will remain in place for as long as required to ensure a smooth transition. Support will be provided by CST project staff, Cerner consultants and local staff, ensuring that we build our knowledge and capacity and have support well past our go-live date. Additionally, a new CST support line will also be available for go-live and ongoing operationally to provide support related to the new system and workflows.
