The Doctors Are In podcast returns in this final installment of a three-part series. Dr. Jeremy Theal talks about how his hospital implemented a clinical information system and the resulting benefits for physicians and patients alike.

Dr. Theal, Gastroenterologist and Chief Medical Information Officer at Toronto's North York General Hospital, led the implementation of his hospital’s Cerner clinical information system. He's a recognized expert at developing and implementing advanced EMRs and advises hospitals and health systems around the world.​

Pemberton Health Centre and Whistler Health Care Centre go live with CST

At 5.30 a.m. on Sept. 27, Pemberton Health Centre went live with the Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST), making it the first rural health centre within Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to move to an electronic patient record and computerized provider order entry (CPOE). Whistler Health Care Centre switched over to the new system a few days later on October 1.
