What happens when “the rubber hits the road” and physicians begin using a new clinical information system? Dr. Jeremy Theal says it’s not going to be easy, but there are things doctors can do to achieve a successful transition.
Dr. Theal talks about this ”tectonic” change to medical practice in the latest episode of The Doctors Are In. He also offers productivity tips for physicians. The three-minute podcast is excerpted from his presentation to a group of physicians at Lions Gate Hospital in September 2017.
Dr. Theal is a gastroenterologist and chief medical information officer at North York General Hospital, where he led the implementation of a Cerner clinical information system. He’s also a recognized expert in designing and implementing advanced EMRs and he advises hospitals and health systems in Canada and around the world.
